A proposed settlement of $11 million to fully settle a class action lawsuit filed against LabCorp is now on the table. LabCorp denies any wrongdoing whatsoever and has not conceded the truth or given any validity to the claims filed against it. The Plaintiff in this case is alleging that LabCorp printed receipts that included credit card and debit card expiration dates. This is a big no-no as doing so is in violation of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act. Anybody who made a payment at a LabCorp patient service center or equivalent using a debit card or credit card between the dates of April 6th, 2012 and April 4th, 2020 may be entitled to cash-in on this $11 million class action settlement.
Class members please note that the ONLY way to receive settlement benefits is by filling out and submitting a claim form. The form can be filled out online through the settlement website. Alternatively, the settlement website allows class members to print out a customized claim form and mail it to the LabCorp Settlement Claims Administrator. Don’t delay as all claims must be submitted by January 25th, 2020. When filing the claim form the class member will need to locate the twelve digit claim ID number located on the front of the postcard received. This number is shown above the name of the class member and can be found following the LLG letters listed on the postcard.
The estimated amount to be received by class members who submit the claim form on time is $200. The estimated settlement amount is subject to a pro rata distribution among the class members.
